What happens if our mail server goes down?
In the event that your mail server is inaccessible, or returns any type of temporary error, the filter acts as a message queue so that emails will be forwarded to you once your mail server is back online. Please note that the continuity features of the filtering service are designed for outages of up to 100 hours ( just over four days). If your mail server will be down for more than four days, please contact our support team.
What if I need access to email while our organization's mail server is down?
You can access queued inbound email within the Messages > Inbound Queue page. From there, messages can be read and even responded to. What happens when our mail server goes back up?
In the event that your inbound messages are queued, the filtering system will periodically retry delivering those messages. Once the mail server is accessible and responsive to messages, the filtering server will automatically deliver all queued messages.
