Auto-renew is a feature in Domain Management intended to help manage domain renewals. When a new domain is registered auto-renew is turned on by default. This ensures that your domains are automatically renewed on an annual basis and avoids expiration of domain names.
To turn auto-renew on or off simply click the auto-renew button in the Domain Management.
When you log in to MyAccount, then click on domain management.
If you have a credit card on file and the domain is set to auto-renew, it will be renewed 30 days before the expiration date. We don't recommend waiting for for the last day to renew the domain. If there is a payment processing issue, it's a good idea to allow plenty of time so the domain does not expire.
If you do not have a credit card on file, the domain renewal will not be processed until payment has been received and processed. In this case the auto-renew will generate an invoice.
